Government Rebates & Incentives

Maximise Your Savings with Sunsearch

Switching to solar and battery storage has never been more rewarding. Across Australia, homeowners and businesses can access a combination of federal and state-based incentives—making renewable energy more affordable while reducing power bills and carbon emissions.

At Sunsearch, we make the process simple by helping you identify the best incentives available in your area.

🔋 Cheaper Home Batteries Program (From 1 July 2025)

The Australian Government is rolling out the Cheaper Home Batteries rebate, available nationwide to eligible households from 1st July 2025. This program provides a federal rebate on home battery installations, helping families lower energy bills and boost energy resilience by storing solar energy for use at night or during outages.

Key Features:

Applies to new or retrofit battery systems

Designed to work alongside existing federal STCs

Income and property-based eligibility thresholds apply

Administered through local retailers and energy providers

Federal Solar Incentives

Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES)

All Australians installing solar systems under 100kW are eligible for Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs)—upfront discounts based on your system size, location, and install date. These rebates reduce the initial system cost significantly.

⚠️ STCs phase out gradually until the scheme ends in 2030, so early adopters save the most.

Large-scale Renewable Energy Target (LRET)

For businesses installing systems over 100kW, Large-scale Generation Certificates (LGCs) are earned based on system output. These can be sold, creating an additional revenue stream over time.
